A Hartford man allegedly hurt while riding as a passenger in a car is suing the driver he says caused a crash in Alton.
Barcardi Holmes filed the lawsuit against Spencer D. Lowe Jan. 25 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Holmes says he was a passenger in a car being driven by another man in March 2010. As they entered the intersection of Cpl. Chris Belchik Highway and East Broadway in the city of Alton, Lowe allegedly crashed into them from the left side. Holmes says Lowe ignored a red light and caused the crash.
Holmes is asking for more than $50,000 to cover the cost of his medical bills, lost income and court fees.
He is represented by attorney Bob L. Perica of Wood River.
