Madison County woman suing two drivers over injuries

A Madison County woman is seeking payment from two other women after allegedly being hurt in a chain-reaction crash.

Janet Biggs filed a lawsuit against Elisabeth R. Wyatt and Sheryl Scheibal Sept. 15 in Madison County Circuit Court.

In the complaint, Biggs claims she was stopped at a stoplight on the Interstate 55/70 exit ramp to Highway 157 in Collinsville when the crash happened in August. Biggs says Wyatt was driving north on Highway 157 and failed to stop at a red light. Biggs claims Wyatt ignored the traffic signal, made a left-hand turn and crashed into Scheibal who was driving in the opposite direction. The force of the collision allegedly caused Scheibal's car to crash into Biggs' vehicle.

Biggs says suffered severe and permanent injuries in the collision and is asking for $50,000 from both defendants to compensate her for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering.
