A St. Clair County woman claims she lost wages after a driver failed to yield the right-of-way to her.
Holly C. Martin filed a lawsuit May 24 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Allison H. Wiltison.
Martin claims she drove east on Winters Street near its intersection with Ward Street when Wiltison, who drove west on Winters, attempted to make a left-hand turn, failed to yield the right-of-way and crashed into Martin's vehicle.
Because of the collision, Martin sustained injuries to her right shoulder, back and left hip; suffered from severe headaches; experienced great pain and mental anguish; incurred an impaired ability to work and labor at home; and lost wages, according to the complaint. In addition, she incurred medical costs, the suit states.
Martin blames Wiltison for causing the collision, saying she negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a lookout to the front and laterally, failed to warn of her approach and failed to yield the right-of-way.
In her complaint, Martin is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Shaun Falvey of Brown and Crouppen in St. Louis will be representing her.
