Mother claims McDonald's employee attacked her son

The mother of a 15-year-old claims a McDonald's employee attacked her son.

Tracey Brown filed a lawsuit May 21 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against the restaurant on behalf of her son, Bryan Spinnie.

Brown claims Spinnie visited the McDonald's located at 848 South Morrison in Collinsville on March 15 when restaurant employee Faheem R. El-Amin attacked him.

Because of the incident, Spinnie sustained a closed head injury and concussion; had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance; incurred medical costs; and experienced pain, suffering, residual symptoms of his head injury and a diminished quality of life.

Brown blames McDonald's for her son's injuries, saying the company failed, through its manager, to properly supervise its employees; failed to properly train its managers and failed to properly train El-Amin.

In her complaint, Brown seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.

John H. Leskera of the Leskera Law Firm in Collinsville will be representing her.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-251.
