A woman claims her former employer failed to pay her adequate wages when she performed overtime work and failed to pay for 100 percent of her insurance coverage.
Deborah Lynn Davis filed a lawsuit May 20 in Madison County Circuit Court against Even Keel Associates.
Davis, who began working for Even Keel on April 2, 2007, claims she worked in excess of 40 hours per week but was not paid one-and-a-half times her hourly rate for hours spent in overtime.
In addition, Even Keel refused to pay 100 percent of Davis' insurance policy as it promised to do when it hired her, according to the complaint.
In her three-count complaint Davis alleges Even Keel violated the Illinois Minimum Wage Law, violated the Fair Labor Standards Act and breached its contract.
Davis seeks damages of two percent of the amount she was underpaid, plus pre-judgment interest, attorney's fees, liquidated and compensatory damages, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Kenneth J. Brennan of The Kenneth Brennan Law Firm in Collinsville will be representing her.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-549.
