Man struck by concrete truck claims arm and hand injuries

A Madison County man has filed suit against the owners of a concrete trucking company, saying he was hit by the truck while he walked down the street.

Tommie Seets claims he was walking near 3170 Harris Lane in Madison County on Aug. 12, 2009, when an employee of defendant Breckenridge of Illinois drove a concrete delivery truck into him.

Because of the incident, Seets suffered a crush fracture of his left arm, wrist and hand; incurred great pain and anguish; and incurred substantial medical costs, according to the complaint filed May 19 in Madison County Circuit Court. In addition, he lost his normal life and suffered loss of income, the suit states.

Breckenridge negligently failed to maintain control of the vehicle and failed to maintain a proper lookout, the complaint says.

In his complaint, Seets seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

David W. Dugan of East Alton will be representing her.

Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-538.
