A woman has filed suit against the driver who she says rear-ended her as she was driving on the interstate.
Elizabeth L. Cutler claims she was driving west on Interstate 64 near mile post 3 in East St. Louis on July 15 when defendant Carlos D. Jackson, who was driving in the same direction, failed to slow for traffic as Cutler did.
Jackson rear-ended Cutler, causing her to sustain injuries to her body, to suffer pain and permanent disability, to incur medical costs and to lose wages, according to the complaint filed May 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Jackson negligently drove too fast, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to slow down or swerve his vehicle to avoid a collision, the suit states.
In her complaint, Cutler is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Brad L. Badgley of Belleville will be representing her.
