An 83-year-old Granite City man claims ambulance workers dropped him as they attempted to transport him to the hospital.
Carl L. Boner filed a lawsuit April 30 in Madison County Circuit Court against GSW Holdings doing business as Abbott Ambulance of Illinois.
Boner claims he lived at Fountainview Manor in Granite City on Jan. 11 when ambulance workers arrived to transport him to the hospital.
"Defendant, then and there, (a) by and through its servants and employees acting within the course of their employment and within the scope of their authority, (b) negligently and carelessly dropped or flipped the gurney they were using to transport Plaintiff, and (c) caused him to sustain a left subdural hematoma, a right hip fracture, right rib fractures of numbers 6th and 7th, injuries to his head, injuries to his nervous system, and entire body," the suit states.
Because of the incident, Boner suffered severe and disabling permanent injuries, pain and suffering and incurred medical costs, the complaint says.
In his complaint, Boner seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
