Plaintiff asks to continue Alton accident trial

Hylla

The plaintiff in a double rear-end accident suit has asked to move a May 10 trial.

The trial in a case brought by Patricia Scroggins has already been moved before by request of both parties.

This time, Scroggins cites on-going discovery as the reason her case can't go to a jury Monday.

Scroggins is suing Jeremiah Moody of Grafton and Shannon Connett of Marion.

Scroggins alleges she was hurt when both Moody and Connett hit her car from behind in August 2006.

Her suit seeks damages of at least $50,000 per count and costs.

Trial was first continued in February 2009 as both parties cited the need to take depositions.

It had been set that October.

Scroggins then filed alone to continue the trial Monday.

She wants more time to conduct depositions, according to her motion.

Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla presides.

Scroggins is represented by Samuel Mormino.

Moody is represented by David Nester.

Connett is represented by Daivd Laurent.

The case is Madison case number 07-L-1042.
