Heller

A total of 26 new asbestos complaints were filed in Madison County Circuit Court throughout the week of April 5 through April 9.

The following complaints were filed:

--Leonard Adams of Wisconsin, a janitor, mechanic and foreman at various locations from 1975 until now, claims mesothelioma. Adams will be represented by Myles L. Epperson of Simmons, Browder, Gianaris, Angelides and Barnerd in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-389.

--Joel Anderson of North Dakota, a laborer and painter at various locations from 1955 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Anderson will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-391.

--Richard Bangs of Illinois, laborer/assembler from 1958 until 1967 and an assistant engineer from 1968 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Bangs will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-399.

--Clarence Barron Sr. of South Carolina, a laborer at various locations from 1972 until 1979, claims lung cancer. Barron will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-377.

--Irvin Blackwell of Missouri, a laborer and maintenance worker from 1964 until 1979, claims colon cancer. Blackwell will be represented by Robert Phillips and Perry J. Browder of SimmonsCooper in East Alton. Madison County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-398.

--Measkyla J. Carter of Kentucky, a carpenter's apprentice through the carpenter's union in 1979, claims mesothelioma. Carter was also secondarily exposed to asbestos fibers during a finish-out of her family's basement from 1969 until 1972 and through her mother, Julia Carter, who worked as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in the 1970s. --Julius Helmle of Wisconsin alleges his recently deceased wife, Helen A. Helmle, developed mesothelioma after her work painting and decorating and painting at various job sites from 1958 until 1964. Helen A. Helmle was also exposed to asbestos fibers through Julius Helmle, who worked as a painter and drywall finisher from 1958 until 1964, as a painter and maintenance worker from 1964 through 1996 and who was a self-employed home construction supervisor from 1964 through 1980, according to the complaint. --Naomi Cook of California, a nurse at various locations from 1947 until 2008, claims mesothelioma. Cook was also exposed to asbestos fibers through her ex-husband, Edward Poore, who worked as an insulator from 1947 until 1960, according to the complaint. Cook will be represented by Christopher R. --Glenda Hickox of Florida claims her recently deceased stepfather, William Bernard, developed lung cancer after his work as a boiler man from 1954 until 1958, as a laborer at various locations from 1962 until 1969 and as a warehouse worker from 1970 until 1976. --Mary Ann Meyer of Arkansas claims her recently deceased husband, Robert Norman Meyer, developed lung cancer after his work as a boiler tender in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1956; as a laborer at Chicago Rootprint Co. from 1950 until 1953 and from 1955 until 1965; as a laborer for Avis from 1965 until 1968; as a laborer for Union Carbide Corporation from 1968 until 1972; as a laborer for Cosupak from 1972 until 1974; as a laborer for Leffingwell Steel from 1974 until 1983; as a laborer for National Material Corporation from 1976 until 1977; as a laborer for Korhumel Steel Corporation in 1983; as a laborer at Sonray Precision Steel Products from 1983 until 1984; as a laborer at A M Precision Metal Processing Corp. from 1984 until 1985; and as a laborer at Interstate Steel Co. from 1986 until 1993. --Patricia Moore of Missouri claims her recently deceased husband, Manley Moore, developed asbestosis after his work as a wheeler, skidder and laborer at various locations from 1952 until 1979. --Gary Nielson of California claims his recently deceased father, John C. Nielson, developed mesothelioma after his work as a member of the Glaziers Local 718 in San Francisco, Calif., from 1960 until his retirement in 1992. Gary Nielson will be represented by Elizabeth V. --Leonard and Dorothy Oliver of Arkansas allege Leonard Oliver developed pleural disease after his work as a member of the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953; as an insulator from 1956 until 1958, as a worker for R.T. Dinwittie Company from 1960 until 1967, as a laborer for John Mansville from 1967 until 1970, as a worker for Paul J. Crese in 1970, as a worker for Phillips from 1982 until 1983 and as a worker out of Insulator's Local No. 5 from 1984 until 1985. The Olivers will be represented by Elizabeth V. --Joanne Rose of Massachusetts alleges her recently deceased husband, David Rose, developed mesothelioma after his work as a gas station attendant and store manager from 1970 until 2007. --Larry Ross of Michigan, a nurse's aid at various locations from 1978 until now, claims mesothelioma. Ross was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his family member, Carol Jerzylo, who worked as a nurse at various locations from 1958 until 1979. --Christine Stalinski of Missouri claims her recently deceased father, Terry C. Whitten, developed mesothelioma after his work as a pipefitter and construction inspector from 1950 until 1978. --Robert Steib of Illinois, a clerk, department manager, personnel manager, assistant store manager and store manager from 1949 until 1992, claims mesothelioma. --Marvin C. and Kristy Jo Thomas of Kansas claims Marvin C. Thomas developed mesothelioma after his work as a general contractor, laborer and drywaller from 1955 until 1974; as a construction worker at Larry Falley's Construction from 1974 until 1979; as a maintenance man at the City of Topeka Water Department from 1974 until 1979; as a laborer at Goodyear Tire and Rubber from 1980 until 1981; as a cabinet-maker at Mid-West Millworks in 1985; as a patrol officer at the Topeka Department of Police from 1985 until 1990; as a salesman at Venture Department Stores from 1991 until 1993; as a salesman at Shrimer Store West Feed Store from 1993 until 1997; as a shop attendant at the State Highway Department from 1997 until 2009; and as a shadetree mechanic from 1969 until 1978. --Rocky and Debbie Hoffman-Weider of California allege Rocky Weider developed mesothelioma after his work as a construction worker for various contractors from 1968 until 1979, as a laborer at Kaiser Steel in 1973 and as a shadetree mechanic worker from 1972 until 1979. Rocky Weider was also exposed to asbestos fibers through his father, Robert Weider, who worked as a mechanic from 1962 until 1967 at service stations. --Minnie Williams of Oklahoma claims her recently deceased husband, Robert Williams Jr., developed mesothelioma after his work as a kiln operator from 1962 until 1974.
