A man and his wife claim they incurred medical costs after a driver struck the man head-on.
Don and Tanna Schablowsky filed a lawsuit Feb. 11 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Jack Strong.
Don Schablowsky claims he drove south on Route 3 in Sauget near its intersection with Queeny Avenue on Feb. 15, 2008, when Strong, who drove south on the same road, struck him head-on.
Because of the collision, Don Schablowsky experienced pain and suffering, loss of a normal life, disability, increased risk of future harm and lost wages and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint. His wife, Tanna Schablowsky, lost her husband's society, consortium, companionship, love, affection and support, the suit states.
The Schablowskys blame Strong for causing the collision, saying he failed to drive at a proper speed, failed to control his vehicle and failed to keep his vehicle within his lane of travel.
In the two-count complaint, the couple seeks a judgment of more than $100,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
Stephen B. Evans of Evans Partnership in St. Louis will be representing them.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 10-L-66.
