A Marion County man claims he sustained knee, neck and back injuries after he slipped on a wooden Q-tip.
Buddy Stanley filed a lawsuit Dec. 22 in St. Clair County Circuit against Barnes Jewish Hospital of St. Louis.
Stanley claims he visited a family member at Barnes Jewish Hospital on Dec. 25, 2007, when he slipped and fell on a wooden Q-tip.
In addition to his injuries, Stanley says he became sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled; received injuries to his cervical, shoulder and lumbar areas; incurred medical costs; suffered disability; and experienced pain and suffering because of the incident.
Stanley blames the hospital for failing to warn him of the wooden Q-tip and for failing to clean up debris from the walking area.
Stanley seeks a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
James R. Williams of Williams, Caponi, Foley and Eckert will be representing him.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-680.
