A woman claims she was seriously injured after a driver struck the left front bumper of her vehicle.
Florence E. Gray filed a lawsuit Sept. 25 in Madison County Circuit Court against Francis G. Leypold.
Gray claims she was driving east on Illinois Route 162 on Oct. 5, 2007, when Leypold, who was driving west on Illinois Route 162, struck her left front bumper.
Because of the accident, Gray sustained permanently disabling injuries, suffered severe and intense pain and lost earnings from her normal occupation, according to the complaint. In addition, she incurred medical costs and her ability to enjoy life has been adversely affected, the suit states.
Gray blames Leypold for failing to keep a proper lookout, for failing to maneuver his vehicle to avoid a collision, for failing to reduce his speed to avoid a collision and for colliding with her vehicle.
She is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
