Two Madison County residents have filed suit against the driver of the vehicle who they say collided with the vehicle in which they were riding.
Henry A. Campbell claims he was driving east on Humbert Road in Godfrey on Oct. 23, 2002, at about 12 p.m. with Margaret B. Davenport riding as his passenger. Suddenly, defendant Jason M. Krankel, who was also driving east on Humbert Road, collided with the vehicle Campbell was driving, according to the complaint filed Sept. 8 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Because of the collision, Campbell and Davenport became injured, incurred substantial medical expenses and suffered a loss of income, the suit states. They also suffered loss of a normal life and experienced pain and suffering, the complaint says.
They claim Krankel negligently drove too fast, failed to reduce his speed to avoid a collision, failed to maintain control of his vehicle and failed to maintain adequate distance.
In the two-count suit, Campbell and Davenport are seeking a judgment of $100,000 or less, costs and other relief the court deems just.
David W. Dugan of East Alton will be representing them.
