Madison County Circuit Judge David Hylla is set to preside over the trial of a negligence suit stemming from a 2005 accident in Marville.
The plaintiffs in the case are suing the driver whom they allege hit their vehicle at an intersection along Illinois State Route 159 and his employer. The suit seeks damages of at least $50,000 and costs per each of its three counts.
The trial is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Sept. 14, according to the court docket.
Plaintiffs Jodie Keehler, also known as Jodie Moore, Christopher Wren and Macie Wren are suing Joshua Eckart and his employer, SCI Engineering Inc.
According to their complaint, Christopher Wren was driving south on Route 159 and was stopped at its intersection with Zupan Road in Marville when Eckart's vehicle struck his.
Macie Wren and Keehler were passengers in the car at the time of the May 2005 accident.
The three contend they suffered and will suffer pain, disability, loss of a normal life and lost wages as well as incurring medical bills due to the accident.
They allege that Eckart drove at a higher than reasonable speed and that he failed to decrease his speed to avoid the accident.
Plaintiffs are all represented by Tad Armstrong of Edwardsville.
Defendants are both represented by Leo Nelsen of St. Louis.
