A St. Louis man is seeking more than $50,000 after he claims he spent more than $21,000 on medical costs as the result of being involved in a collision.
Anthony Mendoza filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in Madison County Circuit Court against Connie G. Slaton.
Mendoza says he was driving south on Madison Avenue at its intersection with Neidringhaus on Sept. 22, 2007, when Slaton, who was also driving south on Madison Avenue, collided with him.
As a result of the collision, Mendoza was seriously and permanently injured, suffered great pain of the body and anguish of the mind, lost wages and incurred medical and related costs of more than $21,000, according to the complaint.
Mendoza blames Slaton for the accident because he says she drove too fast, failed to keep a careful lookout and collided with the rear of his vehicle, the suit states.
Mendoza is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Christopher A. Wagner and Michael A. Chehval of St. Louis will be representing him.
