A St. Clair County woman says she suffered severe and permanent injuries after a driver rear-ended her.
Desiree N. Piatt filed a lawsuit Aug. 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Andrea R. Ehret.
Piatt says she was driving south on North Green Mount Road near its intersection with Westinghouse in Shiloh on Aug. 28, 2007, when Ehret crashed into the rear of her vehicle.
Because of the crash, Piatt suffered severe and permanent injuries to her neck, back and right knee, lost earnings and suffered pain, according to the complaint. She also suffered from a loss of enjoyment of life and incurred medical expenses, the suit states.
Piatt blames Ehret for failing to keep her vehicle under control, for failing to keep a proper lookout, for driving too fast and for driving too closely to her vehicle.
Piatt is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs.
Terry N. Brown of Brown and Associates in Belleville will be representing her.
