Ricki L. Jones is suing a woman who purchased real estate from him, alleging the purchaser failed to uphold her end of the bargain.
Jones filed a lawsuit Aug. 27 in Madison County Circuit Court against Melissa Tucker.
Earlier this year, Jones pleaded guilty to tax evasion charges and was sentenced in July to 15 months in federal prison.
He will begin serving his sentence in October.
Jones claims he entered into a contract with Tucker for the sale and purchase of real estate located at 1 Jones Way in Wood River.
However, Tucker has failed to proceed with the purchase of the real estate, even though she has been demanded to do so, according to the complaint.
Later, Jones sold the real estate to Heinz Peter Trust, but has still incurred damages, the suit states.
Jones is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and attorney's fees.
Harry J. Sterling of Sterling and Dowling in Fairview Heights will be representing him.
Madison County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-891.
