A Schnuck Market customer has filed suit alleging she injured her left hand, left knee, back and shoulder after she tripped over a hole and crack near the store's deli department.
Pamela Bryant says she was at the Schnuck Market located at 4171 Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis on June 20, 2007, when the fall occurred.
"There was no sign warning of the hole/crack in the floor," the complaint filed June 15 in Madison County Circuit Court says.
In addition to her injuries, Bryant incurred medical costs and lost wages and experienced pain and suffering, disability and loss of a normal life because of the fall, according to the complaint.
Schnuck Market negligently caused the crack and hole in the floor, failed to maintain its property, failed to warn Bryant of the hole and failed to inspect its floors, the suit states.
In the two-count suit, Bryant is seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.
She will be represented by Michael J. Brunton and Mary M. Stewart of Brunton Law Offices in Collinsville.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-312.
