Driver ran a light, says plaintiff in suit

A St. Clair County woman says she sustained a broken arm after another woman failed to obey a traffic signal and rammed into her vehicle.

Michelle Webb filed a lawsuit June 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Janie Jackson.

Webb says she was driving west on Jerome Lane at its intersection with Illinois Route 3 on Feb. 14, 2008, when Jackson struck her vehicle.

"At said time and place, Janie Jackson was negligent in disobeying a traffic signal and her negligence was a proximate cause of injuries to Michelle Webb and property damage to Webb's vehicle all to her damage in an amount exceeding $50,000," the suit states.

In addition to her broken arm, Webb sustained property damage of more than $10,000, plus nerve damage and other injures that resulted in past and future medical bills, pain, suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and lost wages.

Webb is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs and other relief the court deems just.

Michael L. McGlynn of McGlynn and McGlynn in Belleville will be representing her.
