A Geneva personal injury attorney has been named to head the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Peter Flowers will lead the 2,000-plus member organization. Flowers had previously served as the group's vice president. He took up the job June 5.
"I am honored to be selected to lead the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association," Flowers said in a ITLA news release. "As a plaintiff's attorney, my entire career has been dedicated to fighting for the rights of the average citizen."
Flowers, 41, is a partner in the Geneva firm, Foote, Meyers, Mielke & Flowers. He began practicing law in 1992. Flowers has a bachelor's degree from Loyola University and a juris doctorate from DePaul University.
According to the release, much of Flowers' career has centered on representing individuals and families in negligence suits. Flowers specializes in representing children injured by medical malpractice, workers' compensation claims, wrongful death, and other areas.
Flowers was named an Illinois Super Lawyer for his work in medical malpractice cases and a Leading Lawyer in 2008.
Flowers is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate Forum, having either resolved through settlement or tried many cases in excess of $1 million as well as the Verdict Club, a society of litigators.
