Keith Melton has filed a lawsuit against Hanna Stillwagon of Troy in Madison County Circuit Court, claiming injuries from an accident that happened Aug. 18, 2007 in the 400 block of Edwardsville Road in Troy.
According to the complaint filed May 15, Melton was driving his 1994 Jeep Wrangler west on Edwardsville Road and was stopped in traffic near the intersection of Riggin Road.
Melton claims that Stillwagon, who was driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla westbound on Edwardsville Road, rear-ended him.
He claims that Stillwagon failed to keep her vehicle under proper control, failed to see and observe his vehicle, failed to drive at a reasonable speed and failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision.
Melton claims severe and permanent injuries, both externally and internally. He claims he became sick, sore, lame and disordered and has so remained from the date of injury to the present.
He suffered injuries to his back and legs, the suit claims.
Melton is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, plus costs.
