Leslie C. Johnson has filed a suit against Mildred A. Haney, alleging she was injured after Haney made an inappropriate left-hand turn.
Johnson claims she was driving east on U.S. Route 50 near its intersection with Joseph Drive in Fairview Heights on March 28 when Haney, who was driving west on U.S. Route 50, made an improper left-hand turn and collided with her.
Because of the collision, Johnson sustained injuries to various parts of her body, suffered pain and permanent disability, incurred medical costs and lost wages she otherwise would have earned, according to the complaint filed May 13 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Haney was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout and by failing to stop, swerve or avoid a collision, the suit states.
Johnson is seeking a judgment in excess of $15,000, plus costs.
