A woman is seeking more than $100,000 from a Granite City bar after she was injured by a drunken man.
Laura Benson filed a lawsuit May 5 in Madison County Circuit Court against J.W. Dun, doing business as Eddie's Lounge.
Benson says she was injured on May 30 by William Travis Hudson, who had been served alcohol at the bar.
In the complaint, Benson does not elaborate on how she was injured, but does say she was made sick, sore, lame and disordered and suffered a loss of earning capacity. She also experienced pain, suffering, disability and disfigurement, sustained property damages and incurred medical costs, according to the complaint.
Eddie's failed to control the conduct of an employee at its bar and failed to warn Benson of the intemperate behavior of the patron leaving its premises, the suit states.
In the two-count suit, in addition to the $100,000, Benson is seeking costs and other relief the court deems just.
Lon D. Weaver of the Law Office of Lon D. Weaver in Bethalto will be representing her.
