Lee Ann Schaefer has filed a suit against Andrea J. Goodman, alleging she received neck, shoulder and low back injuries after a rear-end collision.
Schaefer was driving west in the left-hand lane on Highway 50 in Fairview Heights, about 50 feet east of its intersection with Route 159, on Feb. 13 when Goodman collided with the rear of her vehicle, according to the complaint filed May 5 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
In addition to her injuries, Schaefer was made sick, sore, lame, disordered and disabled, incurred medical costs and suffered disability, the suit states. She also claims she experienced pain and suffering and lost wages.
Goodman was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout, by driving so that she struck the rear of Schaefer's vehicle, by failing to properly apply her brakes and by driving too fast.
Schaeffer is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
Thomas C. Rich and Jennifer L. Barbieri of Fairview Heights will be representing her.
