Russell Scott
Russell K. Scott of Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale of Belleville and St. Louis has been elected to the 2009 Class of Laureates of The Academy of Illinois Lawyers of the Illinois State Bar Association.
He will be honored during an induction ceremony on April 29 in Chicago.
Scott, a defense lawyer practicing in federal and state courts, is an officer in the Litigation Practice Group in Belleville. He is involved in commercial litigation, legal and medical malpractice, product liability, industrial accident, premises liability, automobile, construction, insurance coverage, class action, toxic tort and asbestos.
He has more than 25 years experience in all aspects of state and federal trial and appellate work and has served as chair of the Local Rules Committee and vice chair of the Civil Justice Reform Committee of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
He is president and chair of the board of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, a past president of the Illinois Bar Foundation and serves as chair of the Special Select Committee on Pro Bono Publico of the Illinois Supreme Court. He has been active in the Illinois State Bar Association for more than 30 years.
