Customer claims injuries in slip and fall at Big Lots in Granite City

Big Lots in Granite City is being sued by an injured customer who claims water was left on the floor of the store near a service desk.

Donna Young is seeking in excess of $100,000 from the store and its manager Denise McPherson claiming the defendants were careless and negligent.

Young slipped and fell on water on March 1, 2006, causing her to suffer diverse internal and external injuries, according to the complaint filed Feb. 18 in Madison County Circuit Court.

She claims permanent injuries, lost wages and medical expenses, among oither things.

Young is represented by James R. Stever of the Law Offices of Michael R. Bilbrey in Edwardsville.
