Wal-Mart Supercenter in Highland is being sued by a shopper who slipped in the store's bakery/deli department last year.
Robin Knebel claims she incurred severe and permanent injuries, including pain and suffering, disability and the loss of a normal life, after she slipped on a wet floor on Aug. 4, 2008.
Knebel is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, according to the complaint filed Feb. 23 in Madison County Circuit Court.
The complaint also names a store manager Andrew McFadden as a defendant.
Knebel claims McFadden and Wal-Mart are negligent for failing to keep the store's floors and walkways clean, dry and reasonably safe, among other things.
She is represented by Edward Szewczak of Callis, Papa, Hale, Szewczyk & Danzinger of Granite City.
