Steven M. Watts has filed suit against Cottage Hills Memorial Post 7678 and Randall W. Bland, alleging he was injured after an intoxicated Bland struck him.
Watts claims Bland bought intoxicating liquors from Cottage Hills on July 23 and became intoxicated.
As a result, Bland assaulted Watts, causing fractures to Watts' ribs and scapula and injuries to his head, according to the complaint filed Feb. 12 in Madison County Circuit Court.
Watts also incurred medical expenses, disability and lost wages and experienced pain and suffering, the suit states.
In the two-count suit, Watts is seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000.
