A woman claims her minor son fractured his right leg after a Collinsville man hit him with a vehicle while he was riding on his bicycle.
Bobbie Merrifield claims her son, Marcus Merrifield, was riding his bike east on the 500 block of Vandalia when Raymond Gavillet, who was driving north on Vandalia, hit Marcus Merrifield, according to the complaint filed Feb. 4 in Madison County Circuit Court.
In addition to his fractured fibula, Marcus Merrifield incurred surgical expenses, the suit states.
Gavillet was negligent by failing to keep a lookout for Marcus Merrifield, by failing to stop his vehicle to avoid an accident and by driving his vehicle into Marcus Merrifield while he was riding his bike, Bobbie Merrifield claims.
Bobbie Merrifield is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus other relief the court deems just.
