A man claims he was injured after another man tried to pull a U-turn in front of his vehicle, but collided with him instead.
Luther Woods was driving his 2004 Ford Crown Victoria south on June 14 at about 3:27 a.m. on Broadway near its intersection with 10th Street in East St. Louis when the accident occurred, according to the complaint filed Jan. 26 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
At the same time, Ryan T. Glowczewski was driving his 2008 Toyota in the same direction when he attempted to make a U-turn in front of Woods' Crown Victoria, the suit states.
Instead, Glowczewski struck Woods, he claims.
Because of the accident, Woods sustained permanent injuries, partial disability, pain, lost wages and incurred medical expenses, according to the complaint.
Glowczewski was negligent by failing to keep his vehicle under proper control, by failing to see Woods' vehicle and by making a U-turn at an intersection, the suit states.
Woods is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
Jack A. Strellis of Strellis and Field in Waterloo will be representing him.
