Crash of 18-wheelers leads to St. Clair County suit

An Illinois couple has filed suit against a trucking company and one of its employees, alleging they were injured after a tractor-trailer rear-ended them.

Nancy Glander was driving an 18-wheeled tractor-trailer east on Interstate 80 near Rock Springs, Wy., with her husband, Gary Glander, as a passenger when the collision occurred, according to the complaint filed Jan. 9 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Dariusz Rosol, who was working for KLC Global Services at the time of the accident, was driving an 18-wheeled tractor-trailer behind Nancy Glander when he struck the rear of the vehicle Nancy Glander was driving, the suit states.

Because of the collision, Nancy and Gary Glander claim they suffered serious and permanent injuries, experienced great pain and emotional suffering and will be unable to attend to their usual affairs.

They also incurred a loss of an enjoyment of a normal life and incurred substantial medical expenses, according to the complaint.

In addition, Gary Glander claims he has been permanently deprived of Nancy Glander's love, companionship, consortium and society.

Rosol was negligent by failing to keep his vehicle under proper control, by failing to reduce his speed to avoid an accident, by failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles on the road and by driving too fast, the suit states.

KLC Global was negligent through Rosol, the Glanders allege.

In the six-count suit, the Glanders are seeking a judgment in excess of $450,000, plus costs.

They are represented by Eric Kirkpatrick of Kirkpatrick Law Offices in Belleville.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 09-L-0008.
