Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab sued by patient's family

The executor of a deceased Edwardsville man's estate has filed suit against Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center, alleging the now- deceased man dislocated his hip while living at the center.

Ronnie K. Williams claims Wilburn W. Williams fell on Dec. 29, 2007, while at the facility and dislocated his hip, according to the complaint filed Jan. 6 in Madison County Circuit Court.

Because of his injury, Wilburn W. Williams suffered a marked deterioration of his prior physical condition, incurred medical costs, suffered great pain and anguish and experienced a permanent disability, the suit states.

Williams with ambulation and safe transfer activities, failed to make objective observations of changes in his condition and failed to take necessary precautions to assure his environment remained free of accident hazards.
