Veleka T. Brown has filed suit against Freightmasters and one of its drivers, alleging she was permanently injured after a collision with one of the company's tractor-trailers.
Brown was driving east on Interstate 64 on Oct. 30, 2007, when James L. Walls, the driver of the tractor-trailer, "moved into the traffic lane already occupied by Plaintiff's vehicle, collided more than once with Plaintiff's vehicle and caused her vehicle to leave the roadway," the complaint filed Nov. 17 in St. Clair County Circuit Court states.
Because of the collision, Brown experienced pain and suffering, disability and loss of a normal life and incurred medical expenses, the suit states.
Walls was negligent because he failed to maintain a proper lookout, drove too fast and failed to drive in a single lane, Brown claims.
She is seeking unspecified property and personal injury damages.
Edward J. Szewczyk of Callis, Papa, Hale, Szewczyk and Danzinger will be representing her.
St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-590.
