Christopher Heck has filed suit against Shannon Flemister, claiming he was severely injured after a collision.
Heck was driving his 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier north on Bluff Road at its intersection with Hanover Road in Monroe County on Oct. 6 at 5:50 p.m. when the incident occurred, according to the complaint filed Nov. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
Flemister was driving her 2002 Ford Escape south on Bluff Road and was making a left turn toward the entrance of New Hanover Road when she "came into violent contact" with Heck's Cavalier, the suit states.
Because of his injuries, Heck claims he endured great physical and mental pain and anguish and suffered great physical disability and disfigurement.
He also suffered a loss of enjoyment of his life, was hindered and prevented from attending to his usual duties and affairs and incurred medical expenses, according to the complaint.
Flemister was negligent because she failed to keep her car under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to see Heck's car, failed to stop her car to avoid a collision and failed to yield the right-of-way, the suit states.
Heck will be represented by Dennis M. Field of Strellis and Field in Waterloo.
