Vicky L. Ford has filed suit against a Circle K Store, alleging she was injured after she fell while shopping at the establishment.
Ford was a patron at the Belleville Circle K Store on Oct. 14 when she tripped over a piece of rebar protruding from the end of a broken concrete parking block, according to a complaint filed Nov. 12 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
In addition to her injuries, Ford incurred medical costs and lost wages, the suit states.
She claims the Circle K Store was negligent because it failed to warn Ford of the piece of rebar and failed to repair or replace the broken concrete block.
Ford is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs.
