Donald H. Clark III has filed suit against Jimmy J. Eggers, alleging he sustained serious injuries after a collision.
Clark was a passenger in a vehicle that was traveling south on Illinois Route 11 on Dec. 5, 2006, according to a complaint filed Nov. 7 in Madison County Circuit Court.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Highway 11 and Triple Crowe Road when Eggers collided with it, the suit states.
In addition to his injuries, Clark claims he experience pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, lost wages and incurred medical expenses.
Eggers was negligent because he was driving too fast, failed to reduce his speed, failed to keep a lookout, failed to obey traffic signals, failed to drive safely, failed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of him and failed to safely bring his vehicle to a stop, according to the complaint.
Clark is seeking compensatory damages in excess of $50,000, plus prejudgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court deems just.
Benjamin J. Sansone of Sansone Law in Clayton will be representing him.
