The Electrical Worker's Credit Union (EWCU) has filed a breach of contract suit against one of its customers, alleging he failed to repay three separate loans.
Represented by Rene Bassett Butler of Wood River, the credit union alleges it issued Courtney Oakley, Sr. a $5,000 home improvement loan on Oct. 23, 2006.
The credit union also alleges it loaned Oakley $1,500 for a personal loan on March 16, 2007, and also a motorcycle loan on Jan. 10, 2007, in the amount of $10,624.
EWCU claims it has performed all of the conditions of the agreements but that Oakley neglected to perform his part by failing to make required payments even though he was often requested to do so.
According to EWCU, as of Aug. 11, after penalties and interest, the delinquent balance owed to them is $11,593.45.
The case is awaiting mandatory arbitration.
