Belleville auto accident victim sues

A Marissa woman and the parents of her grandson have filed suit against a Belleville woman, alleging they were injured after a collision.

Frances F. Davis and James D. Davis were passengers in a 1997 Lincoln Towncar that was stopped on North Illinois Street, waiting for traffic to proceed on Nov. 23, 2007, at 3:28 p.m., according to the complaint filed Oct. 27 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

At the same time, Lori L. Zeiter was driving her 1999 Ford Winstar on the same road and collided with the vehicle Frances and James were riding in, the suit states.

Frances claims her neck, shoulders and head were injured in the accident and she has suffered physical pain and mental distress because of it.

James injured his head, chin and jaw in the accident, according to the complaint.

He, too, has suffered physical pain and mental distress because of the accident, the suit states.

Both Frances and James have lost income and suffered a permanent and lasting disability, according to the complaint.

In addition, they have incurred medical costs, the suit states.

Frances and James's mother and father claim Zeiter was negligent because she failed to reduce her speed to avoid a collision, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to keep her vehicle under proper control.

In the two-count suit, Frances and James's are seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000.

Joshua M. Bradley of Marion will be representing them.

St. Clair County Circuit Court case number: 08-L-544.
