Beelman Truck Co. and driver sued over traffic accident

John Riddle has filed a complaint against Dwayne A. Epplin and Beelman Truck Company, claiming his shoulder, back and neck were injured when the vehicle Epplin was driving collided with his.

Riddle claims he was driving north on Illinois Route 3 on Sept. 20, 2006, when the tractor-trailer Epplin was driving collided with his vehicle, according to a complaint filed Sept. 8.

Epplin worked for Beelman Truck Company and was working at the time of the collision.

In addition to his injuries, Riddle claims he suffered great physical pain and mental anguish. The accident has impaired his ability to work, he claims in the suit.

He also claims he has incurred substantial medical costs.

Epplin was negligent because he failed to keep a proper lookout, drove in excessive speed, and failed to give any signal, according to the complaint.

Beelman Truck Company was negligent through its agent – Epplin – who was driving a company vehicle at the time, the suit states

In the two-count suit, Riddle is seeking a judgment in excess of $100,000, plus costs.
