Rear-end accident on Route 3 subject of suit

Keith Huelsman has filed a complaint against Jewelee Hardin, claiming his back and neck were injured when her vehicle rear-ended his.

Huelsman claims he was stopped at a stoplight on Illinois Route 3 on Sept. 19 when Hardin rear-ended him, according to a complaint filed Sept. 8 in St. Clair County.

In addition to his injuries, Huelsman claims he suffered lost wages and pain. He also claims he has incurred substantial medical costs.

Hardin was negligent because she failed to keep a proper lookout, rear-ended Huelsman's vehicle, drove in excessive speed, and failed to slow down, according to the complaint.

Huelsman is seeking a judgment in excess of $25,000 but less than $75,000, plus costs.

Gary K. Burger of Cantor & Burger in St. Louis will be representing him.
