West Main rear-end collision subject of suit

Teresa A. Woodward has filed a suit against Zackary S. Bingheim, alleging she was injured after a rear-end collision.

Woodward claims she was driving west on West Main Street and was stopped at a red light in the intersection of West Main Street and 74th Street on Sept. 6, 2006, according to the complaint filed Sept. 3 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.

Bingheim was also driving west on the same road and his vehicle rear-ended Woodward's, the suit states.

Woodward claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries and is unable to lead a normal life.

She also states in the suit she has suffered loss of income and extreme and permanent physical pain and suffering to her head, face, neck, mouth, teeth, shoulders, trunk, abdomen, back, spine, arms, hands, legs, feet and is disfigured.

She has incurred medical costs as a result of her injuries, according to the complaint.

She alleges Bingheim was negligent because he failed to yield the right of way to Woodward's vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to sound the horn to avoid a collision, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to reduce his speed, operated the vehicle with knowledge that its brakes were inoperable and failed to stop.

Woodward is seeking a judgment in excess of $50,000, plus costs of the suit and any other relief the court deems just.

Rhonda D. Fiss of Belleville is representing her.
