Jeffrey Maher of O'Fallon is being sued by three plaintiffs who say he caused a car crash on eastbound Interstate 64
The lawsuit, filed Aug. 29 in St Clair County Court alleges that Maher failed to operate his vehicle safely in a marked road construction zone.
"The Defendant, Jeffrey Maher, has a duty to operate his motor vehicle with the exercise of reasonable care at that time and place," the complaint says.
Suing Maher are Stephen Murdach, Stacey Murdach and Lacey Martin, all of Mcleansboro.
The claim they have incurred medical expenses and other losses as a result of Maher's actions.
Each of the plaintiffs is seeking in excess of $50,000 and a trial by jury, court papers show.
The Murdachs and Martin are represented by Herrin attorney John Womick.
