Holmes Transport & Logistics, an Australian company doing business in Illinois, is being sued by the estate of a man killed on eastbound Highway 40 in St. Louis.
Mary Cason is seeking in excess of $75,000 in damages in a Wrongful Death Act suit brought on behalf of her husband Charles Keith Cason. The suit was filed July 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court.
She claims her husband was stopped or slowed in traffic just west of I-270 when his vehicle was impacted by the defendant's tractor trailer.
Cason also the Holmes Transport & Logistics driver failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to stop to prevent injury or death.
