Apartment owners Lorenzo Savage and Charmaine Savage of Belleville are being sued by their tenant's guest who fractured a knee after falling down a stairwell last year.
Plaintiff Deandre Gunner is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages for injuries he suffered to his left knee at an apartment building located at 2323 Lincoln Ave. in East St. Louis on Nov. 4, 2007.
According to a suit filed July 25 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Gunner claims the Savages are negligent for failing to install lights and handrails in the stairwell of the building.
Gunner, represented by Christian G. Montroy of The Rex Carr Law Firm in East St. Louis, claims he has suffered great pain and anguish, lost wages and has incurred medical expenses.
