The Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House in East St. Louis is being sued by the mother of a 14-year-old boy who was injured two years ago while playing basketball in the center's gymnasium.

Delano Mosley is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages plus costs of the lawsuit on behalf of her son, Zaire Moore, who tripped over a net left on the floor July 14, 2006.

The law suit filed July 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court says Moore fractured his arm.

He claims loss of a normal life, disfigurement, pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Located at 1200 North 13th St., Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House is a United Methodist multi-purpose community center.

The non-profit agency provides social and human services, and social action, advocacy, housing and economic development programs for persons of all ages in East St. Louis and the surrounding communities.

Mosley is represented by Benjamin F. Goldenhersh of Goldenhersh & Goldenhersh of Belleville.
