Lawyers in the 20th Judicial Circuit have until Feb. 9, to file an application to become that circuit's newest associate judge.
The vacancy was created with the retirement of Associate Judge James Radcliffe, III on Dec. 31.
Applications can be obtained in Chief Judge John Baricevic's office.
The counties of Monroe, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair and Washington make up the 20th judicial circuit which has 12 circuit and 13 associate judges.
After applications are sent to the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, the 12 circuit judges will vote on the applications in a secret ballot.
The last associate judge appointed in the 20th Judicial Circuit was Michael Cook.
