Charles L. Scholes, a trackman for Illinois Central Railroad, filed a Federal Employers Liability Act suit claiming he was injured from being subjected to numerous repetitive traumas and walking on unstable ballast.
According to the complaint filed Dec. 28 in St. Clair County Circuit Court, Scholes has been employed by the railroad since 1970.
Scholes also claims his injuries are due to operating machines, throwing tie plates, unloading ballast trains, operating backhoes and repairing railroad tracks.
Represented by Gregory M. Tobin of East Alton, Scholes is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages.
