Mack truck driver sues Alero driver in I-64 accident

A driver of a Mack tractor trailer is suing the driver of an Oldsmobile Alero for driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 64 and causing a collision.

Plaintiff Jason A. Samples of Graves County, Ky. filed suit Dec. 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court claiming he sustained injuries and has been unable to work since the accident happened nearly two years ago.

Samples claims Amy M. Feist of St. Clair County was headed eastbound in the westbound lanes of the interstate near milepost 29 in Clinton County at 12:20 a.m. on Jan. 14, 2006, and traveled into his lane of travel.

Before the collision occurred Samples claims Feist was negligent for failing to see his vehicle and for failing to reduce her speed to avoid the accident, among other things.

"Due to the aforesaid injuries, Plaintiff Samples has suffered economic losses due to his inability to work and to earn an income," the complaint states.

Seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages, Samples is represented by Neal Heflin of the Bryant Law Office in Metropolis.
