Motorcycle passenger's estate files wrongful death complaint

The estate of a woman killed after a car struck the motorcycle on which she was a passenger filed a wrongful death suit against the driver of the vehicle that allegedly collided with her.

Richard Ochs, as the administrator of Gwendolyn Reichert's estate, claims Keith Maddox of Hartford collided with the motorcycle on Route 100 in Quarry Township in Jersey County on July 15.

According to the suit filed in Madison County Circuit Court Nov. 27, Ochs alleges Maddox was negligent by failing to keep a proper lookout for other vehicles, failed to keep his vehicle under proper control, pulled out in front of the motorcycle and failed to maneuver the vehicle in a way that would avoid a collision.

Represented by Marc Parker of The Lakin Law Firm in Wood River, Ochs alleges Reichert's next of kin have suffered damage as defined under the Illinois Wrongful Death Act.
